Hello...

I am the Director of the Stein Mediation & Family Center, which offers divorce mediation, divorce coaching, & therapy (individual, couples, family). I have a Ph.D. in Public health (Behavioral Sciences & Health Education), as well as an MSW from NYU. I've been trained as a divorce mediator and therapist at the Ackerman Institute for the Family.

The purpose of this group is to create a space & place for those in the process of divorce mediation (or contemplating it) to understand more about the mediation process, share individual concerns, and learn to manage emotions effectively through the process. This is not for persons wanting to work on relationships (though I do offer that privately). We'll mix information & support with lots of compassion!

For those interested, I also provide divorce mediation through the Center as part of a team with Frederick J. Salek, an attorney, mediator, & financial specialist. I will also be forming weekly support groups for persons in mediation or crafting settlement agreements, both in Union Square and on the Upper West Side. I also provide individual divorce coaching, divorce therapy, & parent coordination.

    Hi all, I would like to know how to do this process with someone who will probably cooperate, but who will need a lot of guidance. Will we learn practical things we can use immediately? I will be flying to Japan to talk with her in a few weeks and would like to have info to share with her so that we can fill out papers and file when I come back. Will this group help with doing this?
