UPDATE 4/14/09: This meetup is full for tent campers. Only RV sites left. I am organizing this event in conjunction with a single parents group in LA/OC who is very active. We have had a great response for this event. We have about 50 parents/kids attending right now. See Camp Malibu Beach meal planning discussion at http://singleparents..... Please bring your propane heaters and Coleman stoves if you already have them. Check-in time is 1 PM, so we will meet Saturday morning at 8AM at the public beach across the street from the campground for a picnic/BBQ and beach play. Park on the West side of Pacific Coast Hwy; its not safe to cross PCH from the campground side. Limit four people and two tents per site. No wood fires. Some members will be at the camp Friday night, but I'm not sure yet if going to do that. ---Shawn (Asst. Organizer)
Original description: Have you ever wanted to experience car camping close to home, with clean bathrooms, warm showers, near all the amenities in case you forgot something, far enough away from civilization that no homes are in view, with a stunning sunset, and a panoramic ocean view? Well your dream has come true! Please keep our little secret. This place is a gem. Its construction was blocked by a lawsuit, but it was finally built and completed. It is the only campground on the coast in Malibu, and it is private. This means no riff-raff. This is the last weekend of the “off season” before camping rates at this park double. We will venture over to Paradise Cove Café on Sunday afternoon for beach fun (four hours parking for $3 with restaurant validation). If you have never been to Bob Morris’ Paradise Cove, you simply must come camping with us!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check out Bob Morris' website:
