Note this is not a meeting to simply vent anger at the flawed Family Law justice system. (We can all acknowledge it is flawed, but we have to work with it anyway, while we slowly try to improve it.) If we move promptly, and intelligently, we can often get a reasonable outcomes despite the systems flaws. The focus of this group is to provide the practical information, and emotional support to participants so they can be effective at getting a reasonable outcome for themselves and their children. Legal information and tools are also available helping participants to select and manage their lawyer, and allowing self-representation in some cases. The group aims to be non-judgemental, and supportive, while remaining action focused. The focus at all times is to support a co-parenting situation where both parents remain in the children's life after divorce.

    •  It was a pleasure meeting everyone, and I thought we actually covered some good ground. We established a basic format for future meetings, a combination of open time, and discussion of a pre-announced topic. In this meeting the topic covered was "Effective Communication Strategies with Ex Spouses".
    •  It was my first time at this group, but found that there was a tremendous amount of common ground for all participants. The group established a structure for future meetings that will provide attention to topics of interest to those in attendance at this meeting, but also to allow new members to participate and gain in the collective knowledge of the group as more meetings are held. The facilitator was very adept at driving to key points, but also letting the group discuss issues of importance and define the structure and topics of future meetings. I believe that there is significant interest among the participants to hold additional meetings and add new participants, that will make this a very successful Meet-up for all involved. Well Done Eric!!
